ABOUT THE COURSE

(1 Chronicles 15:22 "Kenaniah, chief of the Levites, was in charge of the singing; he gave instruction in singing because he was skillful.")

(Proverbs 22:29 "Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.")

I will teach you the foundations of the keyboard and get you on your way to becoming skilled on the piano. In each lesson, I will teach you through video tutorials, worksheets, and quizzes. You will get grounded in the theory behind the music.

I will teach you the Nashville Number System, theory, how to form chords, how to play chord progressions, plus walkups and walkdowns in the keys of C, G, D, A, E, and B. You will learn how to play inversions and you will become equipped to play songs.

This course is a must even if you already play the piano. There are techniques and theory taught in this course that will be foundations for moving on to the INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED PIANO COURSES. I so look forward to spending time with you through these video tutorials and teaching you what I know on the piano!

I often ask people, "Would you rather memorized and recite a poem in Italian or learn the language?" If you learn how to recite a poem, that is all you know in Italian. It would be best to learn the language because then you are not limited. 

That is how I am approaching these piano courses. I want to teach you the language of music. I want you to learn the theory behind what you are playing. I want to teach you how chords work within keys, how to play chords in different positions, and why knowing the theory behind it all will unlock the music inside of you. If you will take the time to practice, and be dedicated to learning these courses, you will be equipped to create your own musical poems!
